Official Google Acquisition Waze

The rumor that Google would acquire a map navigation application Waze fulfilled. In an official blog post, Google announced that it has officially purchased Waze.

Unfortunately, Google has not confirmed the cost of issuance for the acquisition. Previous news mentions Waze purchased with a ransom of U.S. $ 1.3 billion or around Rp 12 trillion.

Post-acquisition, for the time being Waze will remain in Israel and operates as an independent company. Waze will be integrated with Google Maps Google Maps to make the service even better.

Google also will work with Waze community to make sure they get what they need for these services continues to grow, including integration into the search engine Google.

Other companies such as Apple, Facebook and Yahoo reportedly interested in buying Waze, but eventually fell to the Google option. Facebook had reportedly been first interested in buying Waze. Company owned by Mark Zuckerberg was even ready to pour money of U.S. $ 1 billion to acquire Waze.

Waze is a map navigation application that can display traffic conditions in real time. The data is updated by the user. This application is developed by developers from Israel, Waze Mobile Inc.. since 2008.

This application is the originator of Uri Levine, Ehud Shabtai, and Amir Shinar. Until late 2011, Waze has a staff of about 80 people. A total of 70 employees based in Israel and the rest in Palo Alto, California, USA.

Until now, the application Waze claimed to have been used by 40 million users in 45 countries, on a par with other popular applications such as GPS-based Garmin and Trapster.
